A first glance at the Acer Aspire One D150 seems as if Acer didn’t do anything new. It looks as if it just copied the features from its previous products on the Acer Aspire One line. However, it doesn’t mean that the Acer Aspire One line is not a good machine. Releasing a 10” netbook on the market may not mean much. This netbook though has a battery life that is longer that what other brands have to offer. It also has a screen that’s sharp and bright. Plus it’s sold at an affordable price.
The release of the Acer Aspire One D150 follows at the heels of the success of the Aspire One A series. It is also one of the Top 5 Netbooks of 2009. With the addition of Intel’s Atom N280 processor, the D150 just increased its performance. Although its 10.1” 1024×60 pixels CrystalBrite widescreen display is still better compared to others, there are complaints coming out regarding the glare caused by its glossy screen.
Weighing just 1.18kg, the D150 is a must if you’re the type who travels around. With its battery life reaching a maximum of 7 hours, travelling with a netbook just keeps getting better. Typing isn’t a burden despite the size of the keyboard since it includes a palm rest, something other netbooks don’t have. Some users may have trouble with its trackpad since it’s rather small.
The Acer Aspire One D150 has a 160 GB hard drive and a multi-in-1 card reader which means storing music and photos isn’t a problem. With the many available connectivity options, sharing it is also easy. The D150 has 3 USB ports, an Ethernet port and the Acer Signal Up technology which allows you to get better reception. Emailing and browsing the web is a cinch with this netbook. But if you’re into gaming or editing, it may not be advisable.
The Acer Aspire One D150 comes in a very streamlined design and is available in a number of colors like white, black, blue and red.
The Aspire One D150 runs on a Windows XP Home operating system. It also has a lot of preinstalled software that includes: Acer eRecovery Management, Acer Launch Manager, Adobe® Reader®, McAfee® Internet Security Suite Trial, Microsoft® Office Trial 2007. The Recovery Management Tool is a treat since it helps you get a full backup of your system and then saving it on a DVD.

PROS
Since the keyboard is above average in size compared to others, it won’t make your fingers cramp. The D150 is light and has a long battery life making it ideal for people always on the go.
CONS
While the keyboard is good, the trackpad may give users a bit of a problem. Its specs won’t allow users to put in some programs like games.
CONCLUSION
The battery life and weight of the Acer Aspire One D150 is its main selling point. Its design is simple and not that outlandish. It doesn’t bring anything new to the market but at its low price, your standards should have been set lower as well.
