Pros:

Like its Travelmate brothers in Acer Travelmate series, the 6493 comes with an array of security features. Geared with a fingerprint reader and an Acer-only Disk Anti-Shock Protection system, data loss due to thieves and shock could be avoided.

 

The Acer Travelmate 6493 also offers a good resolution of 1200 x 800, allowing good graphic details and making multi-tasking easier.  This laptop is also a great outdoor partner.  With its screen backlit with light-emitting diodes, disruption because of the sun’s glare could be reduced.

 

Its nine-cell battery configuration offers a guarantee of surviving 7 ½ hours of non-stop usage.

 

With regards to accessibility, the 6493 offers several hotkeys for convenient access of important programs. And lastly, the 6493 features drivers and software for connecting to external monitors.

 

Cons:

Though the 6943 comes with an array of connectivity features, it notably lacks an HDMI port for HDTV connectivity.  Its integrated graphics card hinders the 6493 to process detailed graphics, making it unsuitable for gaming, especially the hardcore 3D ones.
