The Aspire One AO751h is one of several netbooks that sprouted in order to imitate the success of the Asus EEE PC. Acer came up with the Aspire One AO751h that has a display screen of 11.6 inches and is powered by an Intel Atom processor.

The Aspire One AO751h, being included in Top 5 Netbooks of 2009, is equipped with the Z520 processor that has a speed of 1.3 GHz. This actually makes the netbook slower than others in the same price range but it is still capable of achieving the basic tasks of browsing, chatting, and some office applications. It has a memory of 1 gigabyte but it can be upgraded to 2 gigabytes. Multi-tasking can be done without glitches.

This netbook is very slim and it would be effortless to carry around. It saves space and energy. In addition, it can be stuffed into luggage easily, upping the convenience.

Its screen of 11.6 inches produces images that are bright and clear. Viewing at an angle can also be done without experiencing much distortion. Colors remain accurate even as three people view the netbook at the same time. Its contemporaries have a resolution of 1024×600, while the Aspire One AO751h boasts a resolution of 1366 x 768. At this level, users can load web pages using their original desktop resolution and hence, scrolling down to view the entire content is avoided.

The Aspire One AO751h has nearly full-sized keys, which touchtypists would applaud. Those who handle documents on a regular basis would also like its keyboard.
The Aspire One AO751h has a 1.5-megapixel webcam that is what the other Acer products also have. This webcam gives a picture quality that’s excellent.

This netbook has a strong enough processor and a memory capacity that would be considered sufficient however, it is equipped with an integrated Intel GMA 500 graphics accelerator. This uses up 384 megabytes of memory; hence, when the netbook views 3D graphics, it encounters problems. The GMA 500 can’t play back 720p movies, which other netbooks can handle.

It does have a 7-hour battery life that anyone would consider to be an outstanding feature.

Pros:

The Aspire One AO751h stands out due to the size of its keyboard, its long battery life, and its display that showcases great detail as well as bright and crisp images.

Cons:

The Aspire One AO751h doesn’t have the graphic rendering capabilities that we would have preferred. We also think that Acer should have given it a faster processor.

Conclusion:

The Aspire One AO751h is capable of accomplishing basic computing operations but its graphics capabilities are certainly lacking. Viewing movies is okay but going beyond that would lead to problems. This netbook, which is priced at $350- $450, would suit the person who only uses the machine for some basic office work and word processing purposes.
